- Identifying and transforming shame and self-critical processes
- Recognising and repairing subtle alliance ruptures and misattunement
- Applying EFT in complex presentations, including trauma in neurodivergent clients

Objective

By the end of the masterclass, participants will be able to:

decision-making
- Formulate presenting difficulties using a PQ-informed, neurodivergent-affirming
framework
- Apply EFT with enhanced process responsiveness to diverse emotional
processing styles
- Facilitate emotional access without overwhelming or imposing structure
- Identify and work with implicit and explicit shame processes
- Recognise and repair alliance ruptures in neurodivergent contexts

practice

Target Group

EFT Therapists

Content

This 3-day masterclass explores how core EFT principles, such as emotion schemes, therapeutic tasks, and process guiding, can be applied and extended in a neurodivergent-affirming way. The training is informed by phenomenological research into the lived experience of autistic and neurodivergent clients and EFT therapists, alongside practice-based developments including:

  • A PQ-informed understanding of what brings neurodivergent clients to therapy
  • A process model of shame in neurodivergent contexts
  • An EFT-informed case conceptualisation for trauma in autistic clients

The programme is aligned with core EFT competencies, including therapist responsiveness, emotional processing, and alliance repair, while extending these for neurodivergent clinical practice.
